What Reduce My Costs Have Been Up To So Far in 2025

The first few months of 2025 have flown by – and it’s been a busy, lively start to the year at Reduce My Costs. While we’ve stayed focused on helping businesses cut costs and operate more efficiently, we’ve also made time to build connections, strengthen our team, and enjoy a few well-earned breaks. Here’s a quick round-up of what we’ve been up to from January through May.

Team Meal at L’al Qila

In January, the team got together for a meal at L’al Qila, a brilliant local Indian restaurant. It was a nice change of pace and a chance to unwind outside the office – good food, good company, and no talk of spreadsheets or client calls!

Bringing Local Businesses Together

One of our goals this year has been to create more opportunities for local businesses to connect. Since January, we’ve hosted two networking events for businesses in our building – informal sessions aimed at helping everyone get to know each other better, swap services, and maybe even spark a few new partnerships.

These sessions have been a simple but effective way to open up conversations. There’s often a lot going on within just one building, from digital marketing and IT, to consultancy and finance, and these events give people a chance to put names to faces and understand what their neighbours actually do. We’ve had great feedback so far, and we’re already looking forward to the next one!

Easter Activities in the Office

We kept things fun over Easter with a couple of activities in the office. The Easter egg hunt brought out everyone’s competitive side, with chocolate stashed in all sorts of unexpected places – drawers, meeting rooms, in the printer (yes, really).

The Easter egg hunt was followed by our Easter quiz, where team knowledge was tested on everything from springtime trivia to random facts nobody expected to know. It was a simple way to wind down for Easter and bring a bit of seasonal cheer to the office!

SME Competitions

We’ve also been busy running a few social media competitions, at Reduce My Costs, gifting hundreds of pounds in Amazon vouchers to small businesses across the UK! It’s just one of the ways we like to give back and support the brilliant community we work with. Keep an eye out, you could be in with the chance to win soon!

Slice Wars at Wylam Brewery

To wrap things up, the Reduce My Costs team headed over to Slice Wars at Wylam Brewery – a fantastic Star Wars themed event bringing together some of the region’s best pizza vendors for a friendly face-off. With a bit of sun, good company, and plenty of drinks, we made the most of the afternoon. Safe to say, we didn’t hold back when it came to taste testing! It was a great way to unwind and support some brilliant local businesses.

It’s been a positive and energetic start to the year – and as always, our priority remains helping businesses make smarter decisions when it comes to their utilities. We’ve got even more plans in place for the months ahead, and we’re looking forward to what the rest of 2025 has in store at Reduce My Costs.
